Stone is considered a cold hard substance and I try to make soft smooth shapes from it. I regularly use negative space to ensure the sculpture is a part of the space it inhabits, not invading it. I think being able to look directly through the sculpture also brings the piece to life

I try not to make my sculpture too serious, using humour to lighten any dark ideas. The end product, I hope, is light-hearted sculpture about my observation of daily life. The ideas can range from a mother and her child to drunks fighting on the street, some are purely about making an interesting composition from within the stone.
